We're massive Disney fans here at Beagle HQ and recently watched 'The Imagineering Story' on Disney+. The series looks at Walt Disney's inspiration behind the parks and the studio, as well as the design team who brought it to life. It's a really interesting show and given we're planning a trip to Disneyland Paris, it provided us with lovely tidbits of information and things to look our for when we go.
One thing which struck me about Walt Disney was his innovation and desire to keep creating and pushing the bounds of what could be done, be it with robotics or animation. He is quoted as saying 'We keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.' I was really struck by this quote. Since the global pandemic started, we've had to keep moving forward, be it within our own family and home education or as a creator where I've had to switch from primarily crochet design to designing and making items for our craft boxes. It's been a struggle, but we keep moving forward.
In lockdown I picked up a little embroidery. I had done some as a child, and again on some of my crochet pieces. I wanted to create a mixed-media piece which was Disney-themed and the 'Keep Moving Forward' quote seemed perfect. I cut the quote using my Cricut and iron-on vinyl, then embroidered a Mickey and Minnie, giving Minnie her trademark red bow, before finishing with a crochet heart. It was the perfect gift for hubby when he started his new job!
What do you think? How have you kept moving forward with the assorted challenges of the last few years. Let me know in the comments!
