1997 was a big year. Back in the heady days of 1997 the Spice Girls were still rocking their platforms and minis, Katherine and the Waves wins Eurovision, Diana, Princess of Wales died, Labour comes to power and a little known book by JK Rowling was published. It was also the year I had my first article published!
My local paper started a supplement, called ‘Sparkz’ which featured articles written by under-18’s. My first piece, detailing how I’d recently passed my driving test was one of the top articles in their inaugural edition and I remember receiving a gift voucher as a prize.
Who knew, 20years later that a little ‘sparkz’ would grow into a big flame?
