Amigurumay Day 8 ‘Something Green’

Amigurumay Day 8 ‘Something Green’

Today’s prompt for Amigurumay is ‘Something Green’. I’ve been very excited to show you my latest make and can’t believe I managed to contain it so long but I’m going to tease for another few moments with some of my other green makes.

It’s a bit of a running joke here at Beagle HQ that I love green yarn and I’ve got it in various shades, brands and fibres. It seems to be a colour I’m inadvertently drawn to.

Obviously trees and plants work well in green yarn. My Christmas trees are available for adoption in my shop and I’ve been commissioned to make assorted cactus.

Green’s such a versatile colour that it can be used for plants or trees and even little Christmas Brussel sprouts.

I’ve been commissioned to make a number of cute cacti. They’re so adorable and look great on desks, or just for someone (like me!) so manages to kill most plants they get.

I love these little plants and their happy pots so much, I even used them as a basis for my submission for the Amigurumi Showcase. I wanted to make a twist on the idea of a ‘snake plant’ so made a ‘dragon’ plant with flames and a pussy-ears. They were fiddly to make and fit in the palm of your hand but look super cute. If I get time, I’ll probably make some more – I love the flower aspect and like the puns. Which brings me to today’s ‘green’ make. Regular readers will know that I love Disney and as I was making a cacti commission and had the idea to combine both! So, drumroll, here’s the Mickti, or possibly the Cackey. Ok, so I need to work on the name but aren’t they cute?
