Brrr I have to say, with the awful weather we’ve had recently, it definitely feels autumnal! I managed to dash out in between showers today to take a photo of ‘Fawn’ for todays amigurumay. Whilst not officially an ‘autumn’ doll, I thought her brown dress and gorgeous flowing brown hair looked rather autumnal.
Fawn is one of the first ‘all-in-one’ dolls I made. One thing I had doing once I’ve crocheted something is to spend ages sewing it up. I don’t feel I’m that neat and I always worry about arms or legs coming off during play. I researched how to make an ‘all-in-one’ doll and found this pattern from Supergurumi. It’s a fab explanation for how to create a doll to avoid sewing and super simple for beginners to understand.
For those of you not in the know, Fawn is one of the fairies from the ‘Tinkerbell‘ franchise. We went through a phase of watching the Tink movies and Fawn, the animal-loving fairy was definitely our favourite so I tried to make her. I was still learning so her body is a little chunky and the arms lumpy but as always, I learned a lot from making this piece and the Lamb loved it. I still need (three years later!) to work on her wings – perhaps in time for Amigurumay next year haha.
