Amigurumay 2021 Day 1 Hello Amigurumay

Amigurumay 2021 Day 1 Hello Amigurumay

And hello to you! I can’t believe it’s been 12 months since I took part in Amigurumay. 2020 was strange, we were juggling homeschooling, working from home and trying to keep the Lamb happy and occupied (whilst also trying to buy flour!). As always, crafting kept me somewhat sane and I managed to crochet some fun characters. Here’s a couple of my photos from last year.

Here's a snapshot of some of my crochet creations from 2020. I've made a LOT more since!

The challenge has been created by Airali Gray and is lots of fun to do. It’s also great to discover so many amazing amigurumi designers and makers.

Day One’s theme is ‘Hello Amigurumay’. I always struggle to know how to fulfil some of the prompts but given restrictions are loosening I wanted to celebrate being able to see friends again. So, using my flower girls I created some fun scenes. They’re catching up over a cup of tea – don’t they look happy?

I really love my flower girl characters. They’re small, sitting perfectly in the palm of your hand and I love the colours. Creating different hair styles has been a challenge, but I think it’s important for them to have different styles and personalities. They also have wire in their arms and legs which makes them poseable, if a little fiddly to make.

So far, I’ve made three flower girls, with ideas for more and I plan to add some postcards or greetings cards with them in different poses. I think it will be really fun.

Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see more of my makes. I’m always open to Commissions, or have a look in my Shop to see some of my other makes.
